The kitchen should have all you need to dine-in but we do have some lovely local spots for eating out. Start your night off with a great pint at our local pub just 5 minutes walk from the house. Lismore (10 minute Drive) is our local heritage town, home to the spectacular Lismore Castle, a wander through the gardens and a casual dinner in Foleys would be our personal favourite. For gorgeous food in our prized coastal town of Ardmore (25 minute drive) try The White Horses Restaurant (no web site but they are rated on Tripadvisor) or a more formal setting and amazing waterfront scenery, the Michelin-star restaurant at The Cliff House Hotel, Ardmore. Youghal (20 mins) is famous for it's seafood and Ahernes is top for food there. The local area here is steeped in history and Lismore (10 mins away) is our local heritage town with a fantastic castle, you can visit the grounds there but the castle is restricted as the Lord and and Lady of Devonshire still use it as their family holiday home. The Towers Walk in Lismore is lovely, a drive up to the Vee through Lismore is fantastic, a view of five counties from the top and lovely walk to a Corrie lake. The beaches at Ardmore and Youghal are wonderful for walking, swimming & surfing. The famous Ballymaloe Cookery school and restaurant are only 35 mins drive from us. Visit the pizza restaurant on a Saturday or wander around the beautiful grounds. The Jameson Distillery in Midleton (25 mins drive) is a fascinating tour, followed by lunch in the Sage restaurant or The Farm Gate. Barryscourt Castle Midleton (30 mins away) is a really special visit, they have returned it to its original state and is a unique hands on experience of castle life in Ireland. Bantry House is a really lovely visit, it is 2 hours drive away but the area and even the drive is spectacular. Golf at Lismore (local course), Castlemartyr, Dungarvan (3 courses) or the world renowned Head of Kinsale, all great courses. Wow, so grand and beautiful and ornate but welcoming as well. Niamh was a lovely host. She has thought of everything, every necessity, but much beyond that as well. We loved hearing the history of the house and exploring all of its corners. We played many games of croquet on the lawn, games of pool and darts, spent time in the hot tub overlooking the horses, played soccer, had chess matches and enjoyed the many books to look at. She even had maps for walking or running or riding bikes and even had bikes to use. We cooked multiple meals there and had everything we needed, including so many options of dining tables, both inside and out. We are a family of 11, with three generations. It was perfect for all of us. We had places where we could all gather together and places where we could get off by ourselves for a while. Perfect for a large group. Everything both inside and out was impeccable. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!." Home 1/1 1/1 Testimonials Home Here are some of our amazing feedback from previous guests! " Where do I begin, most beautiful Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at Niamh & her team were beyond gracious. It was our first time In Ireland & Niamh went above & beyond helping us plan every detail of this trip, from places to sightsee, restaurants, arranging groceries & even transportation. The pictures of this estate are gorgeous but the house is even more beautiful in person. Perfect for a big group, we had 11 plus a baby & had rooms to spare & bathrooms for everyone. There’s so much to do at the house, explore the grounds, hang out in bar & game room or relax in the hot tub, we could’ve spent a whole week just there. We were truly so spoiled. Don’t miss this hidden gem. ." Katie, U.S.A - July 2023 During Your Stay Interaction with guests We are very much led by the guests on this one. We are always on hand to offer advice or arrange any extras you may need, but we will leave you to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
